According to a study by Indiana University researchers, the maximum number of friends a user can truly keep in contact with on sites like Twitter and Facebook at roughly 150 people.

Cell Phones Key to Teens' Social Lives

Four out of five US teens (17 million) carry a wireless device, and nearly half these teens say their social life would end or be worsened without their cell phone. According to "“Teenagers: A Generation Unplugged,”" a national study conducted by CTIA and Harris Interactive, 42% of teens say they can text blindfolded.
